Cómo cambiar el color y el tema de Chrome

Chrome es uno de los navegadores más populares, pero parece soso y aburrido. Si bien el aspecto minimalista está bien, puedes cambiar el color y el tema de Google Chrome para personalizarlo. Cambie colores, agregue imágenes e incluso cree temas personalizados para que otros los usen. Actualmente, esto sólo se aplica a la versión de escritorio de Chrome.

Obtenga un nuevo tema de Chrome en Chrome Web Store

La forma más sencilla de cambiar el color y el tema de Google Chrome es instalar un tema preexistente desde Chrome Web Store. Como alternativa, acceda al área de temas de Web Store abriendo el menú de Chrome y seleccionando Configuración.

Seleccione Apariencia a la izquierda, luego seleccione Tema . Esto abre Google Chrome Web Store. Si actualmente tienes un tema instalado, se abre la página del tema en la Tienda web.

Navegue por la tienda para ver la amplia variedad de temas disponibles. Seleccione cualquier tema para ver más detalles, como qué se incluye, con qué frecuencia se actualiza y ver reseñas de otros usuarios. Hay miles de opciones para elegir, así que utilice el filtro Categorías e incluso el filtro Calificaciones para limitar sus opciones.

Cuando encuentres uno que te guste, selecciónalo y haz clic en el botón Agregar a Chrome para instalarlo.

Sólo deberían pasar unos segundos antes de que cambie el tema de Chrome. Cuando abres una nueva pestaña, verás el nuevo fondo. Independientemente del sitio que visites, tus pestañas y bordes mantendrán el nuevo tema.

Como alternativa, haga clic en el botón Editar (el lápiz en la esquina inferior derecha de una nueva pestaña) para acceder a un menú de acceso rápido. Cambie su tema, elija si desea mostrar accesos directos o no y restablezca el esquema de color predeterminado de Chrome.

Eliminar un tema en Chrome

Si quieres algo más, tienes dos opciones. Vuelve a Configuración y desplázate hacia abajo hasta Apariencia.

Chrome solo conserva tu tema actual. Si desea algo diferente, haga clic en la flecha junto a Tema para visitar la tienda web nuevamente. Cuando instalas un tema nuevo, el anterior será reemplazado.

También puedes hacer clic en Restablecer valores predeterminados junto a Tema para restablecer tu tema a su aspecto original. Siempre puedes reinstalar cualquier tema siempre que todavía esté disponible en la Tienda web. Si desea cambiar las cosas con frecuencia, considere agregar enlaces a sus favoritos en sus marcadores. Tenga en cuenta que a veces los creadores eliminan temas de la tienda web de Chrome. Puedes conservar el tema, pero si eliminas uno que el creador también eliminó, no hay forma de reinstalarlo.

Cambiar los colores y la imagen de fondo de Chrome

If you only want to add a background image to new tabs or change the color scheme, open Chrome and click the Edit (pencil) icon in the bottom right. Click Change theme, and select Upload an image.

Choose any image stored on your computer to become Chrome’s new background.

If you want to keep a more minimalist look, just change the color by selecting Chrome Colors in the same sidebar menu. Choose any of the presets, or create your own.

Create Your Own Theme in Chrome

Want to change Chrome’s color and theme but can’t find anything you like? Create your very own Chrome themes instead. While you can code your own, an easier method is using Theme Beta’s Chrome Theme Creator. It’s a free tool that requires no coding knowledge. Theme Beta also has a variety of Chrome themes to pick from.

The Basic tab lets you upload an image, generate compatible colors from it, and create and install a theme package. There are directions within the tool on how to use your theme package.

If you want more customization, the Images and Colors tabs give you more control over each element of the theme.

Preview your changes on the sample Chrome window in the editor. If you don’t like what you see, keep tweaking your settings until you get it just right. If you think others will love it, upload it to the Chrome Web Store for others to use. Just make sure you’re not using any copyrighted images. Use these Creative Commons image sites for free images.

Change Chrome’s Color and Theme on Mobile

Currently, you can’t customize much about the look of Chrome on mobile devices. All you can do is switch between Light and Dark themes.

Open Chrome and tap the three-dot menu. Select Settings. Tap Theme and choose between System Default, Light, or Dark.
