The ‘Multi-app Camera’ functionality allows users to stream from the same camera across different applications, while the ‘Camera Basic Mode’ serves as a debugging aid to identify any issues with the camera.

Additionally, Microsoft is planning to introduce an option to select specific camera resolutions in the settings, which can currently be enabled manually using the vivetool /enable /id:52142480 command.

This update also integrates API support for third-party passkey providers and WebAuthn APIs, enabling plugin authentication for passkeys. Users will now be able to manage passkeys from a variety of third-party services along with the operating system’s built-in options.

The development team aims to enhance the filtering of recommendations within the Start menu for more relevant website suggestions based on users’ browsing histories.

If these features aren’t live on your device yet, you can activate them using the vivetool /enable /id:50460862 command.

This preview also delivers fixes related to mouse, keyboard, graphics, Windows Recall, and Click to Do functionalities.

Windows 11 Build 22635.4655 (Beta)

Similar to the changes in the Dev Channel, build 22635.4655 in the Beta Channel enhances the filtering recommendations within the Start menu to provide improved suggestions based on browsing history.

This update modifies the Spotlight feature on the Lock screen by adding a new ‘Like the image that you see’ prompt in the top right corner. Clicking the ‘Like icon’ delivers additional details regarding the displayed image.

While the Spotlight feature is rolling out to all users, if you haven’t seen the changes yet, you can enable them by entering the following commands: vivetool /enable /id:48656084 for desktop updates, followed by vivetool /enable /id:53844009 /variant:X for Lock screen adjustments.

In this command, substitute “X” with 1 to see the ‘Like the image that you see?’ prompt, 3 for ‘What is in this image?’ or 4 for the same prompt with the Photos app icon inclusion.

This KB5048753 update likewise refines the Share interface by introducing a thumbnail preview when sharing links. If you don’t have access to this feature, you can use vivetool /enable /id:53871483,48433719.

This functionality is still under development; however, you can activate it with the vivetool /enable /id:48504539 command.

This update resolves one known issue relating to a Taskbar window preview error.

Windows 11 Build 27764 (Canary)

Microsoft has also launched Windows 11 build 27764 in the Canary Channel, featuring numerous enhancements that have been previously encountered in other channels. Among these changes is the addition of Jump List support for pinned items in the Start menu.

The ‘Dynamic Lighting’ settings page will now display a placeholder message when there are no compatible lighting devices connected, resulting in the disabling of brightness and effects options.

This release also hides the IME toolbar when applications are in full-screen for users inputting in Chinese or Japanese.

For those in need of accessibility, the Windows Narrator scan mode receives two significant enhancements: the ability to skip links and jump directly to the following text (N’), and quickly navigate to lists (L’).

Lastly, Microsoft has made strides in the speech-to-text and text-to-speech functionalities, with language files set to be downloaded via the Microsoft Store in the future.

Though not mentioned, there’s a new ‘Administrator protection’ feature found under the ‘Account protection’ section in the Windows Security app, albeit it is not yet functioning correctly.
