Troubleshooting Instagram Story Upload Issues: How to Fix It

Are you encountering issues when uploading an Instagram story from your iPhone? While regular users may not experience this problem often, it’s a common hurdle for others. Regardless of your usage frequency, we’ve compiled easy solutions for you to resolve the issue on your own.

Fix 1 – Check If Your Network Is Working

The first step is to ensure that your network connection is active.

Step 1 – There are various methods to verify this. Start by opening a browser.

Step 2 – Visit any website of your choice or go to Fast.com.

Step 3 – See if your network is functioning properly.

If the problem is not related to your network, you can proceed to upload the story on the Instagram app.

Fix 2 – Edit the Story

Often, issues with Instagram story uploads stem from an incorrect audio track. If your story contains a track with licensing issues, it won’t upload correctly.

Before posting your Instagram story, consider using a different audio track.

If you can upload the story successfully afterward, it’s clear that the audio was the issue.

Additionally, if the story includes a link to an external site and that link is invalid or expired, it may prevent the story from being posted.

Fix 3 – Force Close the Instagram App

Try force-closing the Instagram app. If this is a temporary glitch, restarting the app will usually resolve the problem.

Step 1 – Access all the apps on your iPhone.

Step 2 – Next, force-quit the Instagram app.

After closing the Instagram app, relaunch it.

Step 3 – Recreate your story and attempt to post it again.

Check if the story uploads this time. If the issue persists, try the next solution.

Fix 4 – Use a Different Network

The issue might be connected to the network you’re currently using. Switching to a different network could resolve this. For instance, if you’re trying to upload the story via Wi-Fi, consider using cellular data instead.

You can also test using a friend’s hotspot to see if that helps with the upload.
