It doesn’t present significant advancements compared to recently released models. The standout feature is its stylus support, which is compatible with the Goodnotes app.
Google Unveils the Lenovo Chromebook Duet 11″
The Lenovo Chromebook Duet is highlighted for its compact and durable design, making it easy to carry in a bag or use on your lap. It serves dual purposes as both a laptop and a tablet. This device is powered by a Kompanio 838 processor, features up to 8 GB of RAM, and offers 128 GB of storage. It also includes an 8 MP rear camera and a 5 MP front camera.
However, this list is similar to many other devices on the market, making it feel less exciting. A more engaging aspect is the opportunity to buy the Lenovo USI Pen 2, which comes with enhanced palm rejection capabilities for sketching and designing your projects.
Despite the stylus support being common among devices, the Lenovo Chromebook Duet stands out by offering enhanced functionality with the Goodnotes for Web app, optimized for compatible styluses like the Lenovo USI Pen 2. Users can effortlessly journal and take notes as if using a traditional paper notebook.
While this feature isn’t groundbreaking, it shares similarities with the capabilities of the M4 iPad Pro. Users can leverage the Apple Pencil Pro alongside the Apple Notes app and other applications for similar functionality.
Even though the Goodnotes features with the stylus aren’t entirely new, they are still significant. Ultimately, the differentiating factor will be if the Lenovo Chromebook Duet can establish itself and outperform the M4 iPad Pro.
Samsung Galaxy Chromebook Plus Also Launched
In addition to the Lenovo Chromebook Duet, Samsung Galaxy Chromebook Plus has also been announced. It is touted as the lightest and thinnest Chromebook Plus available. This Neptune blue device weighs just over 2.5 pounds and has a profile of less than half an inch.
The Galaxy Chromebook Plus features 8 GB of RAM, an Intel Core 3 100U processor, and 256 GB of storage, along with a vibrant 15.6″ OLED display. With a battery life of up to 13 hours, it’s designed to last through your work or school day.
Moreover, it is the first Chromebook to incorporate the Quick Insert Key on the keyboard. By pressing this key, users access a menu containing various features to enhance writing, including editing options, and the ability to add URLs, emojis, and GIFs. It also features AI capabilities powered by Gemini to assist with these tasks.
Like most contemporary devices, both of these new Chromebooks are equipped with AI functionalities such as live translation, summarization, and transcription.
