Creating playlists on Spotify is easy, but duplicates can sometimes creep in. This article provides various methods to delete duplicate songs from your Spotify playlists quickly and effectively.

Thanks to developers, there are several online tools available for free that can help remove duplicates from your device. For example, Spotify Dedup is a web application accessible from any browser on a PC or mobile device.

Visit the site and click the Log in with Spotify button. Enter your account details.

Allow the tool to scan your playlists, which may take a few seconds depending on the number of playlists associated with your account.

Spotify Dedup will display only those playlists with duplicates. The duplicate songs or podcast episodes will be listed beneath the playlist name. Review the duplicates and click the Remove duplicates from the playlist button to delete them.

That’s it! You’ll receive a confirmation message indicating that duplicates have been removed. You can continue with the next playlist if needed.

Remove Duplicate Songs from Spotify Playlists on Mobile

If you prefer a mobile app for this purpose, consider installing Virtual Shuffle, available on Android devices only.

Log into Spotify and enable notifications if prompted. On the app’s main interface, select the Remove Duplicates option.

Find a playlist that may have duplicates. Tap on it and allow the app to process the playlist, removing any duplicates it finds. You can then move on to the next playlist.

If your playlists are shorter, manually deleting duplicates is an option. However, this method is not practical for playlists with thousands of songs or episodes.

Open your Spotify desktop client and navigate to the Your Library section on the left side of your screen.

Choose a playlist that may contain duplicates. Browse through it to identify any duplicate songs. You can also click on the Artist or Album tabs at the top, as duplicates will stack together even if they come from different albums.

To delete duplicates, click the three dots next to a song and select Remove from this playlist. Proceed to remove the next duplicate to tidy up your playlist.

While you can remove duplicates using the Spotify mobile app, it lacks the option to organize them by song or title. You’ll need to manually browse and identify any duplicates.
