SharePoint Enables Admins to Discover Comparable Sites Using AI Technology
SharePoint is set to empower administrators with the ability to compare their organization’s site with other sites featuring similar files, elements, and visuals through the use of artificial intelligence (AI). As per the entry in the Microsoft 365 Roadmap, this innovative functionality will be available for preview in October 2024, with a full rollout expected in November 2024.
This new AI-driven tool will enable admins to identify similar sites or analyze competitor sites, generating a report that indicates the percentage of similarity between the evaluated sites and the original.
Furthermore, the AI will offer suggestions and guidelines to assist SharePoint users in applying the same settings and policies as those found in the original site and vice versa.
Interestingly, the announcement does not reference Copilot, despite its reliance on AI technologies.
Speaking of AI advancements, this week brought significant news for Copilot users, with Microsoft unveiling features like Copilot agents and Copilot pages, each designed with unique functionalities. For example, Copilot agents can be created in-house and optimized to meet specific organizational needs, whereas Copilot pages are aimed at fostering enhanced collaboration and teamwork.
Admins can now select a site and compare its contents with all other sites. The resulting reports will show a similarity percentage between the site contents and compare settings, aiding admins in identifying and implementing consistent settings and policies across similar sites by leveraging AI capabilities.
