PlayStation Network Account Required to Play God of War Ragnarok on PC – Mod Available to Bypass It
The excitement surrounding God of War Ragnarok arriving on PC has reached a fever pitch, and now, to the joy of fans, the coveted video game is officially available for download and installation on these devices.
You can easily check out its dedicated Steam profile. However, it’s important to note that, as is the case with many console games, to play God of War Ragnarok on PC, you will need a PlayStation Network account.
As stated on the Steam page, a PSN account is mandatory to access the game.
This requirement is likely part of Sony’s data collection strategy, which has been evident in past cases. For instance, there was a significant backlash when Sony tried to implement an account requirement for players of Helldivers 2. After facing severe criticism and numerous negative reviews from frustrated fans, Sony backtracked on that decision.
In contrast, with God of War Ragnarok on PC, there are currently no official workarounds. However, the dedicated PC gaming community has stepped up with a solution. A modder named iArtorias has developed a mod called NoPSSDK, which eliminates the need for a PlayStation Network account. This mod enables players to launch the game without linking to their PSN profiles and effectively disables the PSN overlay that displays your username.
This mod is hosted on Nexus Mods, where it has been downloaded nearly 2,000 times and garnered around 22,000 views shortly after its release.
Edit: It appears the mod is no longer available.
Interestingly, some gamers question why there is so much frustration over this requirement.
Regardless, you can pre-order the game already. It’s important to note that God of War Ragnarok will be available in two versions for PC: the standard edition priced at 59,99€/59,99$ and the deluxe edition, which will be available for 69,99€/69,99$. The deluxe edition includes a digital artbook alongside the game’s soundtrack.

I do not understand why people are getting so mad at Sony when Microsoft does the same thing.
I just started playing Forza Horizon 5 and it forced me to make an Xbox account even though I bought it on Steam. It’s the same as Sony with their games on Steam; I want to know why people are only bringing up Sony while Xbox does the same.
