Outlook Introduces Personalized Status Descriptions for Your Account
Microsoft is introducing a new feature called account descriptions for Outlook, aimed at enhancing user experience by allowing users to define their accounts for others more clearly.
This initiative was highlighted in a fresh update to the Microsoft 365 Roadmap, which indicates that the feature will help users identify different contacts more easily within their email lists.
Additionally, this new account description capability will enable individuals to customize their profiles. It is essential to note that this feature will be exclusively available for the new version of Outlook on Windows.
For further details, here’s the official announcement:
According to the announcement, Microsoft plans to roll out this enhancement in January 2025.
In the meantime, be aware that the Windows Mail and Calendar applications will be phased out this month. To facilitate users’ transition to Outlook, Microsoft has introduced a neutral theme that resembles these applications.
With the new account description feature, Outlook users can create custom labels for their accounts, making them easier to identify within the folder list and other menus throughout the application. Users can configure this setting in their account preferences. #newoutlookforwindows
