Microsoft Teams Introduces Voting Feature for Participants to Prioritize Key Questions in Chats

Microsoft Teams is set to introduce a new feature that will enable users to vote on critical questions during meetings and Q&A sessions, sorting them by the number of votes received. As per a recent update in the Microsoft 365 Roadmap, this functionality will assist moderators in understanding audience preferences and addressing the topics that matter most to them.

This voting capability will empower moderators to filter out outdated or irrelevant questions, moving them to a separate feed to ensure the meeting remains focused and engaging.

Notably, the feature will be accessible across all devices, including desktop computers, iOS, Android, and Mac platforms, ensuring that all participants can contribute to the voting process during meetings, regardless of their device.

Moreover, the ability for participants to vote on questions in Microsoft Teams is expected to streamline discussions and eliminate unnecessary exchanges about which questions deserve priority.

However, users will have to wait until January 2025 for the rollout of this feature, as announced by Microsoft.

In related updates, Microsoft is also making the Intelligent Meeting Recap feature optional, giving administrators the choice to disable it entirely in meetings.

The question voting feature allows meeting participants to upvote the most relevant questions, which can then be sorted based on either the total votes or recent activity. This functionality provides moderators with valuable insights into audience interests, allowing them to address the most pressing topics. Furthermore, moderators can manage outdated or irrelevant questions by moving them to a separate feed, ensuring presenters focus on delivering maximum value to attendees.
