Microsoft Launches Copilot Vision on Edge to Enhance Online Shopping Experience

Microsoft Copilot has recently unveiled an innovative feature known as Copilot Vision, which allows the AI to analyze the website you’re visiting and provide valuable suggestions. This functionality is currently designed for use exclusively on Microsoft Edge and was previewed by the tech company a few months ago.

Copilot Vision aims to serve as a supportive tool for various online activities such as shopping, trip planning, acquiring new knowledge, or simply exploring the internet. However, it’s important to note that this feature is currently available only in a limited preview version while the development team continues to enhance its functionality.

According to Microsoft’s official blog, significant measures have been taken to safeguard user privacy with the introduction of Vision. The company assures users that no information from their browsing sessions will be stored, and the feature remains disabled by default—it will only activate when the user grants permission.

Additionally, Microsoft has restricted Vision’s ability to access third-party websites. Initially, Copilot Vision will be compatible with a curated selection of sites, although Microsoft has indicated plans for a careful expansion of this list. This approach is likely to alleviate concerns among publishers regarding unauthorized scraping and repurposing of their content by Copilot Vision.

If you are a Microsoft Copilot Pro subscriber located in the U.S., you can activate Copilot Vision today by navigating to the Copilot settings menu in Microsoft Edge. Non-subscribers can view a demonstration of this feature on Microsoft’s website.

At present, only Microsoft Copilot Pro subscribers in the U.S. are able to experience Copilot Vision, with free Copilot users and subscribers in other regions expected to gain access in the future.
