Microsoft Edge Dev 132.0.2931.1 Resolves Annoying Game Assist Problem
The Microsoft Edge Insider Dev Channel has recently rolled out the 132.0.2931.1 update, which comes packed with numerous enhancements, new features, and several fixes for existing issues.
This latest version introduces an avatar option within the overflow menu for iOS users, a profile settings page complete with a quick sign-in button via WebUI2, as well as a dedicated tab for Cached Data within Workspaces.
Additionally, it rectifies a critical bug that caused Game Assist to crash when users switched tabs from other applications. It also resolves a specific issue that led to browser crashes upon right-clicking the ‘Quit app’ option found in the site icon. Furthermore, a problem triggering browser crashes when accessing the overflow menu in InPrivate mode on iOS has been addressed.
The update has eliminated the red dot that previously showed on the Share button on the privacy page, and it has corrected the alignment of window caption controls, which were misaligned when horizontal tabs were hidden in the tab center.
Moreover, in ‘Internet Explorer mode,’ the update fixes issues where split-screen web content would overlap with the search flyout. The browser now accurately reflects the tab icon changes after the URL is modified for certain pages that previously failed to do so despite being included in tab groups as ‘favicon URL.’
For iOS users, the contents of the address bar are now centered, and switching between horizontal and vertical modes on the zip screen no longer causes the wallpaper to flicker. Also, in Safe Mode on iOS, the feedback button is now clearly visible.
On the Android platform, the reading icon will not appear when scrolling down the page, even if the reader function is disabled. The Forward and Backward buttons now correctly display on the New Tab Page (NTP). Additionally, the browser will exit InPrivate mode when sent to the background, though it retains the InPrivate mode setting for voice searches on Android.
