KB5043131 Update for Windows 10 Fixes Top Annoying Bugs in the Operating System

Microsoft is currently deploying Windows 10 22H2 Build 19045.4955, identified as KB5043131, to the Beta Channel and Release Preview Channel for Insiders of Windows 10, version 22H2. Both channels will receive the same builds, with Microsoft planning to test new features that aren’t fully ready for all Windows 10 users in the beta channel.

The update includes various bug fixes designed for Windows Insiders within the Beta and Release Preview Channels.

Notably, KB5043131 addresses the issues related to Microsoft Entra’s single sign-on (SSO). A notification required by the European Digital Markets Act (DMA) that appears too often when authenticating with a certificate has been fixed.

Additionally, the patch resolves problems with IE mode, where Microsoft Edge would occasionally stop responding when using this feature. The update also modifies COSA profiles for several mobile operators and resolves a media playback issue where certain media might stop when utilizing specific surround sound technology.

Furthermore, KB5043131 addresses some issues with File Explorer and the Taskbar in Windows 10, specifically that Windows would stop responding when using applications like File Explorer and the Taskbar. Furthermore, Windows Update opt-in notifications now appear upon signing in.

It’s important to note that KB5043131 marks the first Insider build released in two weeks, which is a deviation from the usual weekly build schedule of the Windows Insider Program.

This Redmond-based technology giant decided earlier this summer to continue releasing Insider builds for Windows 10, an OS that has just over a year of official support remaining. Nevertheless, users looking to remain on this operating system can officially extend support for up to three years and can unofficially use it until 2030.
