Install Windows 11 24H2 on a 10-Year-Old Intel Celeron: Surprising Smooth Performance

Recently, Microsoft rolled out the much-anticipated Windows 11 24H2 update, featuring a host of new functionality and enhanced AI capabilities specifically tailored for Windows 11. This substantial annual patch may appear overwhelming for most contemporary PCs and laptops.

However, as demonstrated by a Reddit user, it’s possible to install Windows 11 24H2 on a decade-old Intel Celeron device and achieve impressive performance on such legacy hardware.

This user successfully circumvented the TPM 2.0 requirement for installation and managed to install Windows 11 on their device some time ago. They continued to receive updates and were pleasantly surprised to discover that the recent 24H2 patch significantly enhanced the performance of Windows 11.

Additionally, the user noted that it’s feasible to enjoy cloud and source games on an Intel Celeron device running Windows 11 24H2 as the main operating system.

Those who believe that old Intel Celeron PCs have become obsolete may need to reconsider. If you own such a device, why not give it a try and share your experience with us?

My performance experience has increased! At least from my perspective, opening Explorer is considerably faster (it opens in one click without any delay: same SSD because I never reinstalled), scrolling through Chrome feels smoother, and watching YouTube videos loads more quickly (I always watch in 1080p)… overall, the UI smoothness has improved.

On very low-end unsupported devices, Windows 11 24H2 undoubtedly enhances the performance in terms of the user interface experience, making it smoother.
