How to Schedule Instagram DMs: A Step-by-Step Guide

With the new feature in Instagram, you can set up your direct messages to be sent at a future date. However, currently, this service supports only text messages; multimedia such as GIFs, memes, or videos cannot be scheduled.

How to Schedule a Direct Message on Instagram

Follow these steps to easily schedule your Instagram direct messages.

Step 1: Navigate to the conversation in which you wish to schedule your message.

Step 2: Compose your usual text message.

Step 3: Press and hold the Send button.

Step 4: Choose your desired date and time, with an option to set messages up to 29 days ahead.

Step 5: After setting your schedule, confirm your selection below.

Step 6: Your scheduled messages will be displayed above the text box.

Managing Your Scheduled Instagram Message

After scheduling, management of messages is straightforward. You can choose to copy, delete, or send them immediately.

Step 1: Click on the scheduled message option above the text entry area.

Step 2: In the ‘Scheduled messages’ window, press and hold the message you wish to modify.

Step 3: Options to Send instantly, Copy, or Delete the scheduled message will appear.

Currently, there is no option to edit scheduled messages. This might be a future feature that Instagram could implement. For now, if you wish to change a scheduled message, simply delete it and set a new one.
