How to Fix Safari App Blocked on iPhone
Is the Safari app blocked on your iPhone? As the default browser on all Apple devices, a blocked Safari app can disrupt fundamental functionalities. Itβs possible that Safari has been disabled on your iPhone under certain circumstances.
Reasons Why the Safari App Might Be Blocked on Your iPhone
Safari serves as a portal to websites across the internet. The Content & Privacy Restrictions feature can limit access to certain websites or restrict web searches.
This is often implemented to prevent children from accessing age-inappropriate websites. If you remove the restrictions on your iPhone or selectively unblock the Safari app, it should return to normal functionality.
Fix 1 β Force Close the Safari App
We will initiate the troubleshooting process with a basic solution: force-quitting the non-responsive Safari browser and then relaunching it.
Step 1 β Swipe upward to reveal the Safari app.
Step 2 β Swipe up on the Safari browser to force-close it.
Wait a few seconds, then attempt to relaunch the browser app.
If the browser still fails to open, proceed to the next solution.
Fix 2 β Clear History and Website Data
The second fix addresses Safariβs cached data and stored website information.
Step 1 β Begin by navigating to your iPhone Settings.
Step 2 β Scroll down and select the βAppsβ tab.
Step 3 β Find and tap on the βSafariβ app from the list.
Safari contains several settings on this page.
Step 4 β Scroll down and select βClear History and Website Data.β
Step 5 β On the next screen, set the βClear Time Frameβ to βAll history.β
Step 6 β Tap βClear Historyβ to remove all browsing history.
After clearing the history and website data, you can attempt to use the Safari browser once again.
Fix 3 β Disable Content & Privacy Restrictions
The Safari app and other applications may be blocked due to Content Restrictions.
Step 1 β Start the process by accessing Settings.
Step 2 β Go to the βScreen Timeβ tab.
Step 3 β In the Screen Time settings, tap on the βContent & Privacy Restrictionsβ option.
Step 4 β You can disable the entire βContent & Privacy Restrictionsβ feature.
After doing this, the Safari app should function normally again.
