What is Restricted Mode?

Restricted Mode is a feature on YouTube designed to limit access to specific types of content. When enabled, Restricted Mode prevents users from streaming age-restricted content and potentially harmful or reported videos on the platform. This serves as a protective measure, ensuring users don’t encounter explicit material, and is particularly useful for regulating exposure to adult content on YouTube.

Restricted Mode also restricts access to the Comments section, meaning users cannot read or post comments while this mode is activated.

Why Am I Seeing This Restricted Mode Message?

You may have inadvertently activated Restricted Mode within your YouTube app. Fortunately, correcting this issue is straightforward. Follow these steps to disable Restricted Mode quickly.

Fix 1: Disable Restricted Mode

You can turn off Restricted Mode directly from the YouTube app.
