How to Fix “No Location Found” Error When Sharing Location on iPhone

If you’re unable to share your location with friends from your iPhone, you’re not alone. Some users have encountered a perplexing issue where their location reads as ‘Not found’ when attempting to share their status. In this article, we’ll delve into the source of this problem and outline the effective solutions you can implement to resolve it. Make sure to perform the following steps directly on the iPhone attempting to share its location.

What Causes the ‘No Location Found’ Message?

The current location of an iPhone user is a piece of sensitive, private information. Apple devices leverage the exclusive Find My feature to ensure the security of the devices. With the Find My system activated on compatible devices, users can seamlessly share and track their Apple devices.

The primary function of the ‘Find My’ system includes the ‘Share My Location’ feature. When enabled, this feature allows your iPhone to share location data with your family and friends. However, if this setting is disabled on your iPhone, the ‘No Location Found’ message will appear for those accounts with which you intend to share your location data. This is the most common reason for the issue.

Fix 1 – Update Find My Settings

If certain Find My features are disabled on your iPhone, you can rectify this issue by adjusting your Find My settings.

Step 1 – Launch the Settings app on your iPhone.

Step 2 – Tap on the Apple ID banner located at the top of the screen.

Step 3 – Scroll down and select the “Find My” settings on the Apple ID page.

Step 6 – On the main settings page, ensure that the following options are switched on –

Find My Network

These three settings are critical components of the Find My iPhone feature. Therefore, enabling them should effectively resolve the issue.

After completing these adjustments, you should be able to share your location successfully, and the ‘No Location Found’ message should no longer appear.
