How to Fix Mail App Issues on Cellular Data

Is your Mail app not functioning correctly on cellular data? The Mail app should operate seamlessly whether you are connected to Wi-Fi or using mobile data. The performance of the Mail app is not dependent on the network type. Here are some troubleshooting steps to resolve the issue.

Fix 1 – Enable Cellular Data for the Mail App

You need to ensure that cellular data is enabled for the Mail app in your settings in order to use it with mobile data.

Step 1 – Open the Settings app on your iPhone.

Step 2 – Scroll down and select the β€œApps” option.

Step 3 – Locate the β€œMail” app and tap to open it.

Step 4 – Make sure to enable the β€œCellular Data” option.

If the Cellular Data option isn’t visible, proceed with the additional steps below:

Step 1 – On the main Settings page, tap on β€œMobile Data.”

Step 2 – Scroll down to the β€˜Mobile Dataβ€˜ section.

Step 3 – Tap on β€œShow All.”

Step 4 – Find the β€œMail” app in the list.

Step 5 – Ensure that the β€œMail” app is enabled here.

This ensures that there are no restrictions preventing the Mail app from using cellular data.

Fix 2 – Activate the Push Option

Email data fetching and syncing settings can be adjusted within the Mail app settings.

Step 1 – Go back to the Settings and select the β€œApps” page.

Step 6 – Set the β€˜Fetch’ option to β€œAutomatically.”

After activating the Automatic mode for email Push settings, you should be able to use the Mail app without issues on mobile data.

Fix 3 – Delete and Re-add the Mail Account

The problem might lie within the mail account itself. In this case, removing and re-adding the mail account can resolve the issue.

Step 1 – Access the β€œMail” settings again.

Step 3 – Select β€œGmail” or any mail account to view its settings.

Step 4 – Tap β€œDelete Account” to remove the account.

Step 5 – Tap β€œAdd Account” to re-add your account.

Follow the prompts to set up your mail account. Once completed, check if the Mail app functions properly on mobile data.
