How to Fix In-App Purchases Not Allowed on iPhone
If you’re seeing the ‘In-App Purchases not allowed’ message while trying to buy items on your iPhone, it means you’re unable to complete in-app purchases. Fortunately, this issue is straightforward to resolve.
Why Does the ‘In-App Purchase Not Allowed’ Message Appear?
In-app purchases refer to acquiring applications or services for a fee. However, there are instances where these purchase options may be misused. Therefore, iPhones have a feature for Content Restrictions that can temporarily disable in-app purchases. This serves as a protective measure to prevent children from making unintended purchases from the App Store.
Solution: Adjust In-App Purchase Settings
The procedure is simple and should take less than a minute.
Step 1 – Start by opening the Settings app (represented by a gear icon).
Step 2 – In the Settings menu, navigate to the “Screen Time” option.
Step 3 – Within the Screen Time settings, scroll down and select the “Content & Privacy Restrictions” option.
Step 4 – You can turn the feature off. Once disabled, you can make successful in-app purchases again without further steps.
If you prefer not to turn off all Content & Privacy Restrictions, follow these steps:
Step 5 – Select the “iTunes & App Store Purchases” option.
If prompted for a passcode, enter it to access the iTunes & App Store Purchases settings.
Step 6 – In this section, tap on the “In-App Purchases” setting.
Step 7 – Finally, tap the “Allow” option to enable in-app purchases.
That’s it! You can now make in-app purchases without encountering any restrictions.
