Enable ASUS Motherboard BIOS (UEFI) Dynamic Lighting in Windows 11

Step 1: Download the ASUS BIOS Beta Update

To download the beta version of the ASUS BIOS, follow these steps:

1. Open the ASUS forum page for AMD 600 or Intel 700 series motherboard.
2. Click on the link for the beta version of the BIOS update for your motherboard.
   Quick note: Choosing and installing the wrong firmware can brick your computer, making it unusable.
3. Click the Download button to save the file to your computer.
4. Connect a USB flash drive to your computer.
5. Open File Explorer and locate This PC.
6. Right-click the USB flash drive and select Format.
7. Select the FAT32 option for the “File System” setting.
8. Click the Start button, then confirm with OK.
9. Open the folder where the ASUS BIOS update file is saved.
10. Right-click the file and choose Extract All.
11. Click the Extract button.
12. Right-click the “.CAP” file and select Copy.
13. Open the formatted USB flash drive and click the Paste button to save the file there.

Once you complete these steps, you can proceed to apply the beta version of the update for your motherboard.

Step 2: Install the ASUS BIOS Beta Update

To install the BIOS update on your ASUS computer, follow these instructions:

8. Select the BIOS file located on the USB flash drive, then click Yes to confirm the installation.

After completing the steps, do not interfere with the update process until it’s finished, as this can take time and may involve multiple restarts.

Step 3: Enable Dynamic Lighting in UEFI

To enable Windows Dynamic Lighting, follow these steps:

1. Open Settings on your computer.
2. Click on System and go to the Recovery section.
3. Click the Restart now button for the “Advanced startup” option.
4. After restarting, click on Troubleshoot and select Advanced options.
5. Click UEFI Firmware settings and then Restart.
6. Press the F7 key again to access the ASUS BIOS advanced mode.
7. Navigate to the Advanced tab and find the “Windows Dynamic Lighting” option under “LED lighting”.

   Change the setting to Enabled.

8. Lastly, go to the Exit tab, save your BIOS settings, and restart your computer.

When the system reboots, the Dynamic Lighting feature will be enabled, allowing you to customize your RGB settings.

Step 4: Configure Dynamic Lighting on Windows 11

To set up Dynamic Lighting on your ASUS motherboard within Windows 11, follow these steps:

1. Open Settings once again.
2. Click on Personalization, then select the Dynamic Lighting tab.
3. Confirm that all compatible RGB devices are connected to your computer.
4. Enable the toggle switch for “Use Dynamic Lighting on my devices” to activate the RGB controls.
5. Either click on the ASUS icon to individually customize your motherboard RGB settings or adjust the global settings from the main page.

After completing these configuration steps, your motherboard will reflect the chosen lighting effects.
