How to Access Quick Assist Administrator Mode Easily
Quick Assist is a built-in Windows remote assistance tool designed for both providing and receiving technical support remotely. For frequent users, it’s essential to launch Quick Assist in administrator mode to facilitate effective troubleshooting. How to Access Quick Assist in Administrator Mode
1. Via the Windows Search Bar
- Press the Windows key, and type quick assist into the search field.
- Select Quick Assist from the results, then click Run as administrator.
- Alternatively, you can also right-click on Quick Assist and choose Run as administrator from the context menu.
2. Through Task Manager
- Press Ctrl + Shift + Esc to open the Task Manager.
- In the Task Manager window, locate and click Run new task.
- In the Create new task dialog, input QuickAssist.exe, check the box for Create this task with administrative privileges, then click OK to start Quick Assist in administrator mode.
3. Using a Shortcut
- Press Windows + R to open the Run dialog box.
- Enter the path: shell:AppsFolder and click OK to open a window listing apps installed from the Microsoft Store.
- From the apps’ list, find Quick Assist. Right-click it and select Create a shortcut.
- When prompted to create a shortcut on the Desktop, click Yes.
- Once the shortcut is created, right-click it and choose Run as administrator.
4. Accessing via the Apps Folder
- Press Windows + R to invoke the Run dialog box.
- Type in the path: shell:AppsFolder and click OK to open a window of apps installed from the Microsoft Store.
- Find Quick Assist in the app list. Right-click on it and select Run as administrator.
5. Utilizing the Group Policy Editor
- Press Windows + R to open the Run dialog box.
- Type gpedit.msc and click OK to launch the Group Policy Editor.
- Navigate to the following path:
Computer Configuration\Administrative Templates\Windows Components\Remote Desktop Services\Remote Desktop Session Host\Security
- In the right pane, locate and double-click on Require use of a specific security layer for remote (RDP) connections to open Properties.
- Select Enabled, then click Apply and OK.
- Repeat these steps for the following settings:
- Require user authentication for remote connections by using Network Level Authentication
- Allow users to connect remotely by using Remote Desktop Services
- Always prompt for password upon connection
- Finally, restart your computer to apply the changes.
