To revisit old chats, simply select any previous conversation. You can also search through your prior chats to find specific conversations quickly.
Initiating a Temporary Chat
If you wish to keep a conversation ephemeral, you can start a temporary chat. Tap the three-dot icon in the upper right corner and choose Temporary Chat.
To share a conversation link with others, tap the three-dot icon at the top right and select Share.
Your name will be omitted from the shared chat link by default. If you wish to include your name, tap the three-dot icon in the lower right corner and choose Share Your Name. Additionally, you can Edit Title if desired before tapping Share Link.
Removing Chats or Clearing History
You can remove your ChatGPT conversations in various ways. During a chat, tap the three-dot icon in the top right corner, and select Delete.
You can also long-press a chat from your history and select Delete.
To delete all chat history, tap the two horizontal lines at the top left. Then, access your profile and select Data Controls, followed by Clear Chat History.
Controlling ChatGPT’s Memory
By default, ChatGPT retains information from your chats to provide personalized responses. If you wish to disable this feature or have ChatGPT forget certain details, follow these steps:
- Tap the More options (two horizontal lines) in the top left corner, then select your profile name.
- In the settings menu, choose Customize > Memory.
- Toggle the option next to “Learn from your chats”to enable or disable this feature.
- Select Manage Memory.
- Here, you’ll find all the details ChatGPT has stored about you. Press and hold a point and choose Forget.
- To clear all stored memory, select Clear ChatGPT’s Memory.
Setting Custom Instructions for ChatGPT
Custom instructions are personalized guidelines that you can provide to ChatGPT to tailor the chat experience to your liking. This may include directives like “keep responses brief” or “provide detailed explanations.”
To enable this feature, navigate to Settings > Customize > Custom Instructions.
Then, tap on ‘Tap to Add’ to provide your detailed preferences and click Save.

Exporting Your Data
