  • This tool empowers teams to generate high-quality videos without the need for prior video editing knowledge.
  • Accessibility is limited to specific Workspace tiers, including Business Standard, Enterprise, and Education Plus customers.

Google has officially unveiled its latest application for Workspace, Google Vids, which enhances its extensive range of productivity services, including Gmail, Docs, and Slides. This innovative AI-driven video creation platform aims to transform how teams produce and collaborate on video content in their professional settings.

As mentioned by Aparna Pappu, the Vice President and General Manager at Google Workspace, this tool functions as an “integrated solution for video editing, scriptwriting, and production assistance” . Utilizing Google’s Gemini AI, it can generate storyboards from user prompts as well as existing material stored in Google Drive. The tool smartly recommends stock footage, images, and background music to craft engaging videos.

Among the standout features of Google Vids are collaboration capabilities in real-time through a web browser, AI-generated voiceovers, and an integrated teleprompter for seamless recording. The platform supports a variety of content types, ranging from product pitches and training videos to celebratory messages and company announcements. It also includes pre-designed templates and a “help me create” function that streamlines the video-making process for users lacking technical skills.

The rollout is currently active for customers using Business Standard, Business Plus, Enterprise Standard, Enterprise Plus, and Education Plus, in addition to those with Gemini Business or Enterprise offerings. Importantly, all AI-based functionalities will be complimentary until December 31, 2025.

Revolutionize your workplace communications with the convenience of AI-supported video creation.
