God of War: Ragnarok Releases on PC Two Years After Initial Launch

The highly anticipated God of War Ragnarok, the sequel to the acclaimed God of War, has officially launched on PC. In collaboration with Jetpack Interactive, Santa Monica Studio has introduced exciting new features and settings tailored specifically for PC gamers. You can access the PC version through Steam and the Epic Games Store.

According to Sony, the aim was to provide players with a customizable gaming experience with the release of God of War Ragnarok on PC. Two new settings are being introduced, which will also be available in the console version.

The first is the “Reduced Puzzle Hints” option, which will decrease the frequency of hints from characters regarding puzzles in the game.

The second setting, “Cinematic Audio Description,” is designed to enhance accessibility by providing audio descriptions of visual events during cutscenes. This feature offers additional context to spoken dialogue, enriching the experience for players with low vision.

The PC version of God of War Ragnarök also comes equipped with custom alerts tailored for streamers, as well as a new fan kit that includes social media banners and wallpapers. Players with powerful PCs can enjoy the game at impressive resolutions and high frame rates.

The God of War franchise is no stranger to the PC platform; the 2018 iteration made its debut on PC last year and was succeeded by God of War: Chaos of Creation in February. With the release of Ragnarök, PC players rejoice with simultaneous availability alongside the PlayStation version, marking a significant victory for gamers following Kratos’ journey.

To celebrate the launch on PC, Santa Monica Studio has made a new fan kit accessible, featuring social media banners and wallpapers, which also include ultrawide options for compatible monitors.

As for high-resolution support, God of War Ragnarök on PC can run at up to 4K resolution and 60 frames per second on capable systems. The game also supports ultrawide displays, allowing players to personalize their experience with settings for depth of field, motion blur, and more.

If you’re wondering whether your Windows PC can handle the game, be sure to check the system requirements. Hint: They are robust, but most mid- to high-end systems should run it smoothly.

Additionally, a PlayStation Network account is required to play the game on Steam.
