To effectively manage bandwidth on your router, you can allocate specific amounts of bandwidth to individual devices right from the router’s admin interface.

Follow these steps to manage bandwidth effectively:

• Check the box labeled Enable Bandwidth Control.
• Input the values for Egress Bandwidth and Ingress Bandwidth.
• Press the Save button.
• Click the Add New button.
• Check the Enable box.
• Specify the IP range, Port Range, Protocol, and Priority as required.
• Hit the Save button.
• Select a profile and click the Enable Selected option.

Begin by logging into your router’s admin dashboard where configurations can be set. Then, proceed to the Bandwidth Control area.

Check the Enable Bandwidth Control option and enter your desired Egress and Ingress Bandwidth settings.

For clarity, Ingress Bandwidth refers to the incoming bandwidth, while Egress Bandwidth pertains to the outgoing bandwidth. The former sets the download limit, and the latter establishes the upload limit.

After completing the above, click the Save button and then click on Add New to create a new rule.

Check the Enable checkbox and specify your IP Range, Port Range, Protocol, Priority, along with Egress/Ingress bandwidth settings.

As a tip, priorities can be set between 1 and 8, allowing you to establish up to eight profiles with varying priorities.

After setting everything, click Save. You will find your profiles listed on the screen. Select the desired profile and hit the Enable Selected button.

If needed, you can remove a profile by clicking the corresponding Delete button for that profile. To delete multiple profiles at once, simply check the boxes for each and click the Delete Selected button.

Note that D-Link routers lack a Bandwidth Control feature. Instead, navigate to the Advanced Network section, check the Enable Bandwidth Profiles option, and click Add. You can then fill in the details as previously described.
