Create New Emails Directly from Document Preview in Outlook

Users of Outlook for Android will soon enjoy the convenience of composing new emails directly from the app’s document preview feature. As detailed in a recent update to the Microsoft 365 Roadmap, the Redmond-based technology leader has announced an enhancement to Outlook’s functionality, enabling users to initiate emails linked to the documents they are viewing.

According to the update:

This feature allows for quicker communication with friends or coworkers within an organization, enhancing the experience for Android users of the Outlook app.

In addition to this functionality, Outlook for both Android and iOS will offer the ability to select a save location when users save files to a cloud service directly from the app. This allows users to navigate through their cloud account’s folders to choose their preferred saving destination.

Both of these features are set to roll out in January.

In other updates, there is a known issue affecting Outlook on Windows 11 24H2, which may crash if Google Workspace Sync is installed. Fortunately, the company is actively working on resolving this issue.

Now, users can easily compose a new email that incorporates the document currently being viewed directly from the document previewer.
