Bulk Deletion of Songs in Apple Music After the iOS 18 Update

Essential Information

  • With iOS 18, Apple Music introduces the ability to delete multiple songs from playlists simultaneously.
  • To perform a bulk deletion, open your desired playlist, tap the three-dot icon > select <Edit> > choose the songs > then tap the trash can icon. Don’t forget to hit ‘Done’ to confirm your changes.

The ability to remove several songs at once from a playlist is one of the most sought-after enhancements on Apple Music. Thankfully, users of iOS 18 can now efficiently select multiple tracks to delete in one go by simply tapping the trash icon.

Previously, users needed to swipe over each individual track and tap the trash can, which could be quite time-consuming depending on the playlist’s length and the number of tracks to be removed.

To utilize the new bulk delete functionality, access your playlist, click the three-dot icon in the upper right corner, and select Edit.

Select all the songs you wish to remove. Then click the trash can icon located at the bottom left to delete.

When prompted, hit Delete to confirm your action. After finishing, make sure to tap Done to save any changes to the playlist.

The introduction of the bulk delete feature in Apple Music has been eagerly awaited. It’s surprising that one of the leading music streaming platforms lacked such a fundamental capability, but we’re pleased to see it implemented.
