Automatically Insert Python Code into Excel Spreadsheets with Copilot
Microsoft has announced enhancements to its Python capabilities in Excel, introduced earlier this year, which now includes the incorporation of Copilot for Python users. This upgrade aims to facilitate advanced data analysis directly within Excel.
As detailed in a recent blog post, the tech giant from Redmond has made Copilot in Excel with Python available for public preview. However, according to the latest update on the Microsoft 365 Roadmap, the full rollout is expected to begin in November 2024.
This new feature empowers users to leverage natural language to articulate their desired actions, allowing Copilot to effortlessly generate, explain, and insert Python code directly into Excel spreadsheets.
Through this integration, Microsoft unlocks robust Python tools that enhance data visualizations, streamline data cleaning, and facilitate machine learning and predictive analytics.
This week has been significant for Copilot. On Monday, Microsoft unveiled Copilot Pages and Copilot agents—two innovative AI tools designed to boost productivity and support businesses globally.
We’re thrilled to introduce Copilot in Excel with Python, merging one of the world’s leading programming languages for data with Copilot’s capabilities. This enables users to perform advanced analyses such as forecasting, risk assessment, machine learning, and visualizing intricate data using simply natural language—no coding skills needed. It’s akin to having a proficient data analyst join your team. Currently, Copilot in Excel with Python is available in public preview.
