Since Apple revamped the Control Center to become more customizable, many users have requested individual controls for different connectivity options. Previously, these features were bundled into a single “Connectivity” control within the Control Center. It seems Apple has finally responded to this request!
The forthcoming iOS 18.1 update introduces new connectivity controls for multiple options, including Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Airplane Mode, Mobile Data, Personal Hotspot, and VPN. Now, you can escape the traditional ‘Connectivity’ control box and tailor the Control Center to your preferences.
Adding Standalone Connectivity Controls to the Control Center in iOS 18.1
Here’s how to integrate the new standalone connectivity controls—Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Airplane Mode, Personal Hotspot, Mobile Data, and VPN—into the Control Center.
Requirements
The new toggles belong to iOS 18.1, which is currently in its fifth developer beta. If you’re not using this beta version, you can expect iOS 18.1 to be available to you next month.
Text Instructions
- Access the Control Center.
- Click on the + icon located in the top left corner to create a new shortcut.
- Select Add a control at the bottom of the screen.
- Scroll down to find the ‘Connectivity’ section. Here, you’ll discover all the available standalone toggles for your Control Center.
- Choose one to add it as a separate toggle in the Control Center.
- Adjust the size and position of the control to your liking.
- If desired, you can completely remove the ‘Connectivity’ box.

Among these new standalone controls, only Wi-Fi and VPN cannot be added to the Lock Screen. Please also note that there still are no dedicated AirDrop and Satellite controls available, indicating further enhancements are possible.
