Soon You Can Ask Copilot Image Questions in OneDrive

Copilot has been an integral part of OneDrive for some time, offering numerous functionalities such as file summarization. Recently, Microsoft has plans to advance Copilot’s capabilities within OneDrive to provide detailed explanations of image content.

This enhancement will enable users to inquire about various aspects of specific images saved in OneDrive. As detailed in the Microsoft 365 Roadmap, a Microsoft Copilot for Microsoft 365 license will be necessary to access this feature.

It’s important to highlight that this functionality will exclusively be available on OneDrive for the web.

The anticipated launch date for this feature is February 2025.

Additionally, OneDrive will soon incorporate Copilot agents, allowing users to create custom AI models for enhanced usability on the platform, with availability set for April 2025.

Users will soon be able to ask about images in their OneDrive. By selecting up to five images, you can pose questions concerning the contents of an image or request the extraction of pertinent text. This feature will necessitate a Microsoft Copilot for Microsoft 365 license and will be available primarily for OneDrive Web users in commercial settings.
