Initially available in the Google Messages beta version 20241112_00_RC00, the “Sending as” capability has transitioned out of beta, with regular users of the Google Messages application (version 20241029_00_RC01) now encountering this feature in their chats.

With this update, users gain increased authority over how their profile is shared. Access these settings via the profile menu located in the upper-right corner, allowing you to adjust your name and photo. Modifications made will lead you to your Google Account settings.

This update provides three distinct visibility options for your profile details. You have the choice to display your name and photo to all recipients, restrict it to just your contacts, or keep it hidden from all.
