This development aligns with Microsoft’s ongoing strategy to aggressively promote Edge since the launch of its Chromium-based iteration in 2020. The company has previously enacted measures to prevent users from redirecting away from Edge, complicated the process of setting default browsers in Windows 11, and issued alerts when users attempted to download Chrome.
