Additionally, users can also access it via the context menu or by pressing the keyboard shortcut Ctrl+I.

As stated in the Windows Insider blog, the AI capabilities extend further than mere explanations. Users are now able to rephrase sentences, change the tone, and adjust the length of their writing.

This AI functionality is currently available in preview for Windows 11 users located in the United States, France, the UK, Canada, Italy, and Germany. Individuals in these regions can utilize 50 credits for trying out the rewriting options. For those who wish to keep the traditional essence of Notepad, these AI features can easily be turned off through the app settings. A valid Microsoft account is necessary to use this functionality.

This integration aligns with Microsoft’s wider initiative to weave AI throughout its Windows framework, following the recent implementation of spell check and autocorrect tools.

The simplest text editor on Windows has undoubtedly become much more intelligent, thanks to its new AI-driven writing support.
