Microsoft Edge Dev 132.0.2917.0 Now Enables Proper Profile Information Syncing
Microsoft has rolled out a fresh update for its Edge web browser specifically for users on the Dev channel operating on desktop systems. This update upgrades Edge to version 132.0.2917.0, unveiling a range of new functionalities along with several important bug fixes. Among the standout features is the newly integrated option to verify the synchronization status directly from the profile settings webpage.
The synchronization status has been incorporated into the profile details section of the updated Edge browser. Users can easily access this feature by clicking the user profile icon on the toolbar, followed by selecting “Manage profile settings.”
Additionally, the Edge version 132.0.2917.0 update brings forth an innovative setting that allows users to personalize webpage and scrollbar colors by utilizing their chosen accent colors. To activate this option, navigate to edge://flags and look for “webpage custom colors.”
This update also introduces a notification that alerts users when the sync service is temporarily unavailable. This informative alert will show up on the new tab page in instances where the service is down.
On the bug fix side, the latest Edge update resolves a critical issue that caused crashes on iOS when users pressed and held an image to move it before releasing. Additionally, it remedies a crash that occurred upon reopening the browser after closing both the main and guest profiles.
The update also addresses a problem that led to crashes on Android devices when returning to the New Tab Page (NTP) after saving logs, as well as an issue where icons in the browser uninstall dialog were truncated.
For a comprehensive overview of the changes made, users can consult the official release notes. If you’re an Edge Insider on the Dev channel, you can now easily obtain this update by checking for updates in the browser’s settings.
