Microsoft Paint Launches New Share Button for Effortless Image Transfer to Other Devices
Microsoft has upgraded its built-in Windows application, Paint, by introducing a Share button, enabling users to effortlessly transfer their images to other devices without navigating through extra context menus.
This newly implemented feature operates in a manner akin to Windows Share, allowing users to share images directly within the app across Android devices, other Windows PCs, or through specific applications like Snipping Tool for additional editing.
Additionally, users have the option to send images via Outlook or email, even to themselves.
Although the Share button has existed for a time, as pointed out by tech enthusiast @phantomofearth, it may not have received widespread attention. That changes now, as it appears to be accessible to most users of Windows 11. We tested it on both a Stable version and an Insider build of Windows, and confirmed the presence of the new Share button.
Moreover, Microsoft has enriched the Paint application by integrating AI features like Cocreator, a background eraser, and layering systems, allowing for more intricate image editing. With Cocreator, now rebranded as Image Creator, being available to all users with a Copilot+ PC and gradually rolling out to Windows 11 24H2 users, Microsoft is equipping us with tools for effortless artistic creation.
