How to Resolve Bitwarden Errors: 5 Effective Solutions

Numerous users have reported encountering the “An error has occurred”message when using Bitwarden on their iPhone or Android devices. This situation can be quite troublesome as it prevents access to your passwords. Fortunately, there are several solutions available to resolve this issue, and we will guide you through them today.

How to Resolve the “An Error Has Occurred”Message in Bitwarden

Before diving into fixes, try logging into your Vault using a different device. Additionally, consider connecting via a VPN or switching from Wi-Fi to mobile data to see if that makes a difference.

1. Deauthorize All Active Sessions

  1. Access Bitwarden on your computer.
  2. Navigate to Settings and click on My Account.
  3. Input your master password and select Deauthorize Sessions.
  4. Attempt to log in again using your mobile device.

2. Switch the Server

  1. On the login page, tap on Not you.
  2. Next, select Logging in as and choose either bitwarden.com or bitwarden.eu.
  3. Try logging in once more.

Some users have found that changing to a different server and reverting back resolved their issues, so don’t hesitate to try this approach.

3. Clear App Cache or Reinstall the Application

5. Disable Two-Factor Authentication

  1. Log into Bitwarden on your computer.
  2. Go to Settings, click on Security, and navigate to the Two-step login section.
  3. Turn off all two-factor authentication methods.
  4. Make sure to save your changes.

Keep in mind that turning off two-factor authentication will reduce your account’s security, so this should really be considered a last resort and a temporary fix.
