Windows 11 Introduces Windows 10-Style Small Taskbar Icons

A new feature called “small taskbar buttons”will soon be available in an upcoming release of Windows 11, anticipated to roll out around November or December.

The Windows 11 24H2 update is now available, bringing several enhancements, including improved performance and new AI features that cater to a wide range of users. Nonetheless, Microsoft is developing another update that will introduce functionalities such as “small taskbar icons.”While previous versions of Windows allowed users to adjust the taskbar icon size, this option has been notably absent in Windows 11.

The upcoming “small taskbar buttons”feature is not included in the Windows 11 2024 Update but will be part of future updates.

According to a post by Phantom on X, users will find a new toggle that allows changing the size of taskbar icons to small. Windows Latest has also confirmed the presence of this toggle.

However, there are issues with the feature’s functionality as it does not perform as intended at this time. Tests conducted by Windows Latest indicate that while the taskbar icons do become smaller with this setting, the overall taskbar remains large.
