Immersive Microsoft Teams Experience for Android Rooms with 3×3 Video Galleries

Microsoft Teams is set to enhance its immersive meeting experience. Contrary to assumptions about Microsoft Mesh, the focus is on a more conventional approach to creating engaging experiences within the platform.

As outlined in the latest Microsoft 365 Roadmap update, Teams will introduce a 3×3 video gallery feature for dual displays in Rooms on Android. This means that dual display meeting rooms will showcase up to 18 videos (3×3 on each screen) when no content is being shared, optimizing the meeting environment.

Microsoft emphasizes that this update will deliver a consistent experience across Teams Rooms devices operating on Windows and Android.

According to the roadmap entry, this new capability is scheduled for release in November 2024.

Dual display rooms now have the capability to present up to 18 videos (3×3 on each screen) when no content is being shared during meetings. This enhancement guarantees a uniform experience across both Windows and Android Teams Rooms devices.
